Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20)
4 burger buns
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 leaves lettuce
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

1

Prepare the Patties

Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Form into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

2

Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

3

Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheese to each patty and cover to melt.

4

Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

5

Assemble the Burgers

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, onion, the cooked patty with cheese, and ketchup. Top with the other bun half.
